Playground Exercise Snapshot: Step Ups

These are a great way to develop power, strength, and stability in the legs, especially the glutes, without weights!

1.     Find a bench, stairs, and platform that has an even surface

2.     For steps up, lift leg from the lower abs and hip flexors, for jump ups lower yourself into a squat

3.     Aim to evenly distribute the weight on the whole foot at the top, power through the glute

4.     Land softly, think cat-like

5.     Whether you step or jump down, don’t lock out your knees

Repeat 10-20 reps (on each foot if doing step ups) for 3-4 sets
