   No matter how perfect you are with your nutrition there is going to be that time when you need to order a meal. Having a plan of attack is crucial for success. Start by selecting a restaurant ahead of time that will have options that could be easily modified to meet your needs. For instance, if you are trying to limit alcohol, probably not a good idea to grab a bite at a bar. Or if you are looking for less carbohydrate heavy meals, do yourself a favor and stay away from savory Italian restaurants with bread and heavy pasta dishes. Once you have selected your restaurant, look online and see if you can view the menu ahead of time. We have all walked into a restaurant with a certain meal in mind, then at the last minute, something looks so much better on the menu, and you order that instead. If you are proactive, you could build your perfect plate without even looking at a menu. Once you have found your ideal meal, you can even customize it further. “But Coach G, I looked online and the nutrition info isn’t there! What do I do now?” Don’t fret.
