Coach G’s Nutrition Corner: To Supplement or Not to Supplement
The Webster’s Dictionary defines a Supplement as “something that completes or enhances something else when added to it”. Think about this when you are reaching for that Protein shake or quick bar when you are unprepared. Proper nutrition should consist of whole, nutritious and actual real food. Supplements in any form are only going to help enhance what you are currently eating. Yes, if you need to increase your protein or veggie intake, supplementing with a shake or greens smoothie will help fill that empty stomach, but it cannot replace real foods. Do your homework and find ways to eat as healthy as possible before reaching for that Supplement!
