The Great Plate Debate!
Ok, so no real debate here, I am telling you a tested method to help curb excessive eating at meal times. In this country bigger is better. We have big cars, big houses, big serving sizes, and without control, big waist lines. Most of us have a full set of dishes in our kitchens, and how often do you bring all of them out at the same time? Try this technique at your next meal. Pick the small, appetizer plate as your main dish. You can still fit all the food you need onto a smaller size plate, and you will be forced to think twice before you “clean your plate” and overeat. Do yourself, and your dish washer a favor, pick the smaller plates and fill them appropriately. The foods you select are still up to you, but if you use this trick you might indulge less on empty calories, because let’s face it, there is less room on your plate for junk. Fill the small plate with protein, healthy fats, and the right carbs. This method can be used at all meal times and always remember, you can go back for seconds.
